The Technical Audit: Why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Bat-Swing Faces a Structural Test in Manchester
A Rajasthan Royals teammate casts doubt on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's style ahead of the Manchester T20I. Inside the technical analysis of his bat-swing.
I've always appreciated the determination required to compete at the top level and watching Venkatesh Iyer manage his present stint as a player with Royal Challengers Bengaluru ( RCB) is not an one-off. It is well-known that being on an defending champion team usually means stepping into an extremely balanced and stable machine, where the entry points are limited. In a recent meeting on the 22nd of April 2026 The Madhya Pradesh all-rounder offered a real-time glimpse into his day-to-day life and offered a mature viewpoint about team dynamics over personal success.

The Challenge of a Settled Combination
It's not easy to find a cricketer of such level to be left out of the game however, it is clear the reason the RCB management is reluctant to experiment with a system which ended their drought in trophy contention. I have noticed the fact that Venkatesh Iyer is only playing in one game this year, and that was with Rajasthan Royals, where he demonstrated his value in a fast 29 from 15 balls which included two sixes. Even with this appearance, the well-established middle and top order - which includes such players as Virat Kohli, Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal--has made the door open for mid-season flings.
It is well-known that maintaining winning teams is usually the best option to a team looking to win consecutive titles. Venkatesh admitted the fact it was his responsibility to be a part of the environment of the team. His ability to keep his motivation up without getting overwhelmed is an indication of the team culture Andy Flower and Mo Bobat created within the Bengaluru dressing room.
Role Clarity: The Mentorship of Dinesh Karthik
One of the best insights from his interview was the degree of team communication. It is evident the impact of the batsman Dinesh Karthik in the way Venkatesh Iyer prepares for his next shot. He was praised by DK with giving him complete clarity about his position, and describing his current position in terms about "when" rather than "if" when he will return to the playing XI of the RCB.
Strategic Nets Venkatesh has been taking advantage of his time at the bench to hone his techniques, and is even seeking advice on red-ball bowling by Josh Hazlewood.
Flexible Batter He's been working alongside Karthik to develop more aware of the conditions during T20 cricket.
"The "Intensity" Factor: The interviewer said that even though the locker room has a relaxed atmosphere however, the presence Virat Kohli maintains the energy "right up there."

Authentic Insight: Why the Wait Might Be Worth It
Professionally, from a perspective From a professional perspective, I believe Venkatesh Iyer is the best insurance policy of the RCB. We all know that injury or decline in performance are likely to happen during the course of a lengthy event. In keeping players at his best as well as "role-clear," RCB makes sure they have a left-handed power hitter that can be a part of the middle of the order, or widen if needed. There is no doubt the fact that he's "overqualified" for the bench However, his presence can create an environment of healthy competition, which pushes the team's starting XI to keep their high quality.
I believe it's important to recall his experience at the KKR in which he played a key role in their victory in 2024. Moving into a backup position will require a certain level of confidence. My impression is that his emphasis on personal improvement and not external recognition is one of the reasons the man is a hit with coaches and scouts.
Looking Ahead: The Return to the XI?
In the midst of this year's IPL 2026 schedule, damage to the main players could open the door to. If it's a strategic shift on a track or an opportunity to rest an experienced player You can tell the fact that Venkatesh Iyer has the potential to be a huge contribution. The patience of Iyer isn't only in waiting around; it's also an active process of prepping.
We all know that the most successful teams have players sitting on the bench are just as hungry as the players playing on the field. In the case of Royal Challengers Bengaluru being able to have Venkatesh Iyer on the sidelines is an option that may make a difference in the playoffs. Be on the lookout for forthcoming fixtures as his return to the spotlight appears likely.
