The Technical Audit: Why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Bat-Swing Faces a Structural Test in Manchester
A Rajasthan Royals teammate casts doubt on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's style ahead of the Manchester T20I. Inside the technical analysis of his bat-swing.
I've witnessed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium experience a variety of emotional rollercoasters, however the atmosphere the 13th of April 2026 was a different experience completely. We all know that this Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) match was always going to be a high-octane affair and no one expected the drama to begin with the very first ball that took place. You can witness the pure, unadulterated happiness in the eyes of SRH manager Kavya Maran when she went famous with the "wild" celebration following the removal of the young star, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.

The Moment That Stunned the Royals
The pursuit of a huge 217-run goal began with a lot of optimism of players of the Rajasthan Royals. I saw that fans were waiting with bated breath to see if the young star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi could repeat his previous feats of brilliance. But rookie speedster Praful Hinge did not have the same plans. The twond pitch of the game, Hinge delivered an aggressive, rising quick delivery that threw Sooryavanshi out of guard.
As we all know that the left-handed player of his age has shown his strength this season however, this time the player was unable to control his pull shot. The ball hit a huge top edge before launching straight into the sky. This SRH wicketkeeper Salil Arora was not a fool under the ball's loft sending"the "wonder kid" back for his first gold ball during the IPL.
If you've followed the IPL for some time, you will observe how Kavya Maran has become the lifeblood in the SRH stands. I am sure that her reaction at this wicket was one for the books. The cameras immediately went to the gallery of owners which is where Kavya was seen leaping in excitement and screams of excitement. This was not just a wicket. it was the demise of a dangerous batter who had been destroying the best of attacks all through the IPL2026.
The Effect: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was exiled because of zero (1).
A Debutant's Wish Praful Hinge became the first bowler in IPL history to pick three wickets in the first over of a first-ever match.
The Atmosphere: The Hyderabad crowd was roaring during the powerplay, when The Royals' top order collapsed to 9/5 in the powerplay.
Professional Analysis: A Tactical Masterclass by SRH
From a professional perspective from a professional perspective, I believe the decision to introduce Praful Hinge was an act of genius from management at SRH management. As we all know, Ishan Kishan has spoken of the Hinge name in earlier games, however the team was stuck with an experienced option. When they finally unleashed their Vidarbha speeder against a RR team that was high-flying and exploiting the young batters vulnerable to a raw pace and hard lengths.
It is clear the significance of this tactic. By taking Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as a duck SRH successfully shattered the momentum RR typically carries into middle overs. I believe that this one incident altered the psychological balance of the game leaving the Royals on the verge of a chase that appeared impossible from that point.

Why This Golden Duck Matters
It is crucial to keep in mind it is important to remember that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is still a young man learning how to perform on the biggest stage in the world. As we all know, legendary players like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have had to endure the shame of being becoming a golden duck. This is an opportunity to grow as youngsters like. Even though Kavya Maran and the SRH fans are enjoying today, this moment is likely to help to make Sooryavanshi an even more shrewd player in the near future.
In the end, the picture of Kavya Maran leaping into the stands will become one of the key "owner moments" of IPL 2026. It's a reminder of the enthusiasm that drives this sport. In the case of Praful Hinge who has made an announcement about his arrival in style and is ensuring all Royals will have some worries about the opening.
