The Technical Audit: Why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Bat-Swing Faces a Structural Test in Manchester
A Rajasthan Royals teammate casts doubt on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's style ahead of the Manchester T20I. Inside the technical analysis of his bat-swing.
I've witnessed some memorable moments in the history of cricket but watching Digvesh Rathi recreate the infamous notebook dance in the IPL 2026 game in the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans was an absolute spectacle. We all know that the gesture of a notebook was widely used by Chadwick Walton. It was also later utilized as a method of revenge by Virat Kohli. But witnessing a young spinner such as Digvesh Rathi perform this on a stage that was that was as large as Ekana Cricket Ground on the 12th of April 2026 shows the confidence that is evident in the new generation of. It is evident how the mood changed when that he "signed off" on the wicket of dangerous Sai Sudharsan.

The Dismissal: How Digvesh Rathi Outsmarted Sai Sudharsan
The magic moment occurred during the middle of the overs, during the middle overs, when Gujarat Titans were seeking to form a long-term relationship. I spotted the fact that Sai Sudharsan had a hard time identifying the different variations offered by the the LSG spinner. Digvesh Rathi bowled an iconic shot that slid across the ground and caused the ball to be mistimed, which led to a straightforward to catch.
When the catch was caught, Digvesh Rathi was stunned and mimicked the opening of an open notebook, then "wrote" down the name of the batter. This wasn't only celebrating the win; it was an emotional statement. The picture shows the fact that Sai Sudharsan was the mainstay for GT's GT line-up And his removal essentially damaged the core of their pursuit.
Tactical Significance of Rathi's Performance
From the perspective of a professional analyst The rise in the form of Digvesh Rathi is giving Lucknow Super Giants an important change within their spin division. We all know that it is the Lucknow surface often gives bowlers the chance to alter their speed, and make use of the pitch's natural grip.
Score-Winning Statistics: Digvesh Rathi completed his performance with a vital moment that shut down his opponents. Titans' middle line.
Pressure Building In removing an established batter such as Sai Sudharsan was able to allow his pace batteries to strike the lower order more liberty.
The Leadership Trust Rishabh Pant, who will captain LSG during the IPL 2026 has clearly granted Rathi the right to act assertive and assertive.

The Legacy of the Notebook Celebration
It is my opinion that it is essential to give some information to this. It is well-known that the notebook party is much more than a dance. It is also an opportunity for bowlers to inform a batter they're "on the list." It is evident the fact that Digvesh Rathi is a student the sport, since the move he made came back which hasn't been used often internationally following it was the Kesrick Williams and Virat Kohli story.
This is what I think shows the personality that is the Lucknow Super Giants this year. They're not simply trying to score points, they're playing with a passion that keeps the crowd entertained. It is evident that the older players within the LSG dugout were enjoying brilliance of the spinner who is just starting out.
Professional Insight: What This Means for Gujarat Titans
To the Gujarat Titans, the departure of Sai Sudharsan in that moment was an enormous loss. I was surprised to see the middle-order of their team was unable to adjust once their "notebook" came out. It's no surprise that GT is traditionally been a team who chases very well. However, Digvesh Rathi's streak proved that quality spin can derail the best laid strategies.
As a conclusion, Digvesh Rathi is officially announcing himself as a marquee performer in the IPL in 2026. The extent to which he'll continue using the notebook-based celebration is yet to be determined, however you will see that his bowling performances are the main story. While we wait for the next round of games, the focus will be focused on the young player to determine whom is the one he "signs" next in his books of wickets.
