The Technical Audit: Why Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s Bat-Swing Faces a Structural Test in Manchester
A Rajasthan Royals teammate casts doubt on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's style ahead of the Manchester T20I. Inside the technical analysis of his bat-swing.
I've been following Babar Azam throughout his entire career and although he's well-known for his quiet demeanor but his recent occurrence in the 2026 PSL is setting social media on fire. It is well-known that this year's Pakistan Super League is not only about cricket, but also their personalities as well as the drama that comes with them. In the recently-aired team segment of Peshawar Zalmi, it was evident that Babar making an amusing, yet sharp jab on his fellow teammates Iftikhar Ahmed and team coach Misbah-ul-Haq which prompted a lot of discussions among the fans and professionals alike.

The incident took place after a candid conversation with participants from the Peshawar Zalmi team. When it came to fitness and age was brought on the table, Babar Azam was not shy about it. He joked about putting Iftikhar Ahmed known as "Chacha" by fans, along with the famous Misbah-ul-Haq which implies that they are both part of to the same time period. The tone of the conversation was humorous, I think that it demonstrates the shift in generation that is currently taking place within Pakistan cricket.
It is evident the way Iftikhar Ahmed was performing admirably in his last 4/21 game in the match against Hyderabad Kingsmen, accepted the criticism in way. As we've seen that it is not uncommon for "age-shaming" tag often gets in the mix of such chatter on social media, particularly in the case of a celebrity that is as renowned such as Misbah-ul-Haq which is acting as a consultant for The Zalmi team.
Tactical Insight: The "Senior" Impact on Peshawar Zalmi
From the perspective of a professional analyst from a professional analysis perspective, the existence in "older" heads like Iftikhar and Misbah can be the main ingredient in Babar Azam's captaincy this season. It is clear that, even with the jokes Babar is heavily relying on his strategic savvy.
AKA The Iftikhar Factor The player has transformed to a reliable "utility" player who can strike during the powerplay or close out games with the bat.
Misbah's Consultancy His work is controversial because of possible conflicts of interest claims related to his position on the PCB however his impact on Zalmi middle order stabilization is undisputed.
Leader Balance Babar is the main player, as those who are "seniors" provide the grit which has helped keep Peshawar Zalmi on his position at the top on the PSL 11 points list.

Professional Analysis: Banter or Disrespect?
It is my opinion that it is essential to differentiate locker room style from the public's perception. We know that Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed are very intimate relationship. This is evident by the way Babar is adamant about Iftikhar to play with his ball when he is in difficult circumstances. It seems to me that describing the situation the case as "brutal age-shaming" might be an exaggeration of the digital media, even though it creates a tense headline.
The past has shown that Pakistan cricket have always prospered from the "senior-junior" dynamics. Misbah-ul Haq himself played till his 42nd birthday, which proves that age is not an amount of time if health levels remain. In my opinion, by engaging Misbah as part of the conversation, Babar shows an attitude of ease and decentralization that can help keep the environment of the team relaxed during the long schedule. schedule.
When we are looking forward towards the conclusion in the PSL in 2026 be sure to keep in mind the way the "senior" duo responds on the field. If Iftikhar is consistently winning games, as Misbah is constantly refining the game plan, Babar Azam could find the fact that some of his "old" colleagues are the players who helped him win the debut PSL name as captain. The jokes remain, and Zalmi followers love every minute of the fun.
